Do I have to be a stay-at-home mom to join MOMS Club?

No! While we do cater to stay-at-home moms, we have members who work from home or work part time as well. With the exception of the MOMS Night Out and a few special events, our activities are during the day and during the week when these moms need support. However, some members attend only a few events, such as MOMS Night Out. Some only choose to receive our newsletter and participate in our Facebook group.

Do I have to live in West County to join MOMS Club?

You do have to live within our boundaries to join our chapter. We are only allowed to admit members who live within our boundaries, which include Fenton, Valley Park, Manchester, Ballwin, Chesterfield, Wildwood and Eureka. By limiting our boundaries, we keep the group small, making it easy for moms to make it to play dates within close proximity to their homes. However, if you are outside of our boundaries, check out our links section or email us and we can put you in touch with other chapters in the St. Louis area.

Why should I pay to join a moms group?

For the cost of a few lattes, you can have access to an extremely dedicated and active community of moms and kids. We have events on our calendar nearly every day. These events are well-attended and rarely cancelled. We pride ourselves on the friendships our members have been able to make.

What does the $20 pay for?

Your $20 annual dues pays for:

  • Monthly room meeting fees
  • Administrative costs, such as copies, stamps, etc.
  • Some entertainment costs for parties
  • An emergency fund set up to help support members in times of family crisis
  • A portion is also donated to the MOMS Club® Mother to Mother Fund

How often do you have activities?

We have more than 40 members and hold activities each month with several events per week, including a monthly MOMS Night Out and our Monthly Meetup. Most of our activities take place in the daytime during the week, catering to stay at home moms or moms who work part time.

Can I come to any event, even if I have a newborn?

Once you sign up, you can come to as few or as many of our events as you'd like.  Members are welcome to come to ANY event, even if it seems geared towards a different age group.  We are here to support moms, so the primary purpose of the play dates is to allow YOU the opportunity to get out of the house and meet with other moms and get the support you need.  The socialization of our children is just a wonderful side effect!

How old are the moms and kids in the group?

Our members are moms of all different ages and kids range in age from newborn to preschool age. Some also have older children in grade school, high school and even college! Moms who have kids in school are also welcome to join the group.

Am I obligated to do anything special as a member?

We ask members to commit to attending at least four events a year. Please see our Participation Guidelines for more on this. We also ask that you follow our Behavior Guidelines.

How do you share information with members once they are in the group?

We communicate with each other through Facebook and once you join, you will be invited to join our private Facebook group. We also have a public “fan” page on Facebook. Like us! We also have a newsletter that goes out to members via email once a month.

How do I sign up?

Ideally, you can come to our Monthly Meetup, which near the start of the month at 10 a.m at the Grand Glaize Library. Kids are welcome to attend. At this meeting, we welcome new members and conduct any business of the club. We also sometimes welcome speakers and do other activities. Please email us for the meeting location.

Can I attend a play date before I sign up?

Our events are for members only. You can attend the Monthly Meetup, but you can't attend other play dates until you sign up. This is for a few reasons. First, we prefer to invite moms to the monthly meeting because it’s a heavily attended event and you will get the chance to meet the most members that way. Also, this way we don’t have to coordinate with a bunch of different moms if an event gets cancelled due to weather and you are always guaranteed to meet other members of our group!

However, if you can’t make it to our Monthly Meetup, please email us and we can make other arrangements to meet you! You can attend two MOMS Club meetings before deciding whether you want to join.
